Elsabé, owner of the Guest House, says:
I love to eat good things, and I love to serve my guests good things. That is why I personally design the menu and source the ingredients and oversee breakfast in the morning.
Breakfast at Serendipity will start with freshly brewed Italian-roasted coffee, or a selection of teas, accompanied by a glass of orange juice.
The ‘hunter’s platter’ includes freshly baked croissants or muffins with butter, jam, ham, cheeses, a selection of cold meats. A variety of cereals, including Swiss muesli are always on the buffet. Yogurt and fruit (fresh or stewed) are served individually.
Serendipity serves a ‘full breakfast’, which involves fried egg, scrambled egg or poached egg with bacon and/or sausages, usually with mushrooms, tomatoes, baked beans and toasted bread.
Eggs are cooked to order with soft boiled eggs and scrambled eggs with trout and porcini mushrooms as accompaniments clear favourites. It is possible, however, to order a healthy and nutritious version by grilling the protein and using poached, rather than fried, eggs.
