Reservation terms and conditions

Deposit is processed via Dineplan – a secure online 3rd party payment system.

A deposit of R450 per guest is required to secure your reservation, which is payable within 24 hours of making the provisional booking. Automatic cancellation will be done after 24 hours if no deposit is received.

A 100% REFUND WILL BE GIVEN for any cancellation or alteration made by the guest no later than 24 hours before your booking.

In the event of a late cancellation or no notification of alteration by the guest or a no-show, the full deposit per cancelled or absent guest will be held. This is at the sole discretion of Management.

For group reservations, any reduction in the number of guests after the booking has been confirmed will result in the forfeiture of the deposit corresponding to the cancelled guests. For example, if a group of 10 guests is confirmed and the final party size is reduced to 8, the deposit for 2 guests will be forfeited and will not be applied to the remaining balance. No exceptions will be made.

Serendipity is the “Global Winner, South African Cuisine” and the “Country (South Africa) Winner Fine Dining Cuisine” for the 2019 World Luxury Restaurant Awards.

Lizelle and Rudolf were on the red carpet at The Hermitage Museum Hotel in St Petersburg in Russia in July for the 2019 World Luxury Restaurant Awards Gala Ceremony. Serendipity received two World Luxury Restaurant Awards for 2019.

Please Note:

Serendipity is a Boutique Restaurant with only eleven tables. We do not turn tables, which means that you are the only group booked on your table for that entire evening. If you don’t honour your booking or cancel at the very last minute, Serendipity will suffer an unreasonable loss. Please be considerate and cancel a reservation if you decide not to make use of it.

Confirming your reservation:

The morning of your reservation, an automatic SMS and email reminder of your booking will be sent to you. This communication will give you the opportunity to automatically confirm your reservation. You are welcome to confirm your booking a day or two in advance telephonically or by email, but will still receive an auto confirmation.

Operating hours:

Dinner only, Monday to Saturday open from 18:30. Bookings essential.
Closed on Sundays, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and Good Friday

Children’s policy:

Serendipity is a Fine Dining environment. If your child will be comfortable in this environment, without disturbing other guests, they are very welcome. We do not cater for children and do not have children’s facilities, high chair’s or menus. We unfortunately do not accommodate children under 5 years.

Serendipity Shuttle:

Request a shuttle service to and from your guest house in Wilderness. Please include a note and guesthouse name in the “Special Requests”  section on the Contact Details Page when making a reservation. Read More
